November 11 Saturday 6:00 pm  Annual Potluck Dinner and Auction, Good Hope Lutheran Church, 300 S. Main St.  Arlington, OH  There will be a door prize and a silent auction.  Again we will have a Chinese Auction.

A Chinese Auction is similar to a Silent Auction with a bit of a twist. You get to “vote” for the items you would most like to win by distributing your tickets accordingly. Here’s how it works.

The items are put on display for you to inspect and bid on. Each item will have its own bucket or bag for the deposit of tickets.

As you arrive, you can purchase 25 tickets for $5.  Place a ticket in the bucket or bag of the item you would like to try and win. The more tickets you put in, the better your chance of winning. You can spread your tickets around, or concentrate them on just a few items.  You can also purchase 25 more tickets for another $5.

After the silent auction is concluded, the winning number for each of the items in the Chinese Auction will be drawn from its bucket or bag.

Please consider donating something for these auctions (e.g. baked goods, horse related décor, carriage appointments, holiday items, etc.)  Smaller inexpensive items (less than $10)  will be put into the Chinese Auction.  Several items may be grouped together.

Your more valuable donations will be put into the Silent Auction.  This year you will receive a bidder’s number to use when signing the bid sheets.
