It's Safety Clinic time. If you don't know the first thing about driving,
harnessing,shoeing or horse and vehicle safety then this is the event for
you. And are you lucky,we are having one this month and it is FREE! Yep
you heard me correctly, FREE on April 19th. Circle you calendar and come
join us at the Hancock County Fairgrounds from 2 - 4pm. Refreshments will
be provided, but we can't promise good weather so dress accordingly. I know
I don't know much about horses except it hurts when you get dumped off, so
I know I am looking forward to it and I hope to learn a lot.
We recently set up a booth at the GLAHC Swap meet at the University
of Findlay Equestrian Farm. It was a great success. We acquired new
members and if you are ever looking for something horse related, this is
the place to be. This was held on February 22nd.
On Saturday May 16th we will be heading to Orient, Ohio. We will be
visiting Greens Heritage Village at 2pm. Willy Green has everything from
a carriage display he acquired most of from right here in Findlay, Ohio.
What we here in Hancock County know as Ghost Town. He also has many
different items clear up to an old White Castle Restaurant. Just don't expect
to order any hamburgers, Sorry. Just take I-71 South to exit 100 Groveport
Road 655. Make a left on 655 and go about 3 miles to State Route 104.
Make a right on 104 and go about 5 miles to State Route 762. Turn right on
762 and Willy's place is 5 miles down on your left. The address is 10530

John Hunter has set up for us to attend Upper Sandusky's Carriage
Days on June 13th. It is being held at the Wyandot County Historical
Society located on South Johnson Street. Feel free to tour the museum
or just display your carriage for all to see. The time for this event will be
announced at a later. date. I will keep you informed.
August 22 is "Backstreet Days" being held at the Hancock County
Historical Society on West Sandusky Street. We have been invited to
set up our carriages and carts for display along with antique and vintage
cars ranging in dates from 1800 - early 1900's. So get your best attire
from that time period and come enjoy the fun. The Museum will be open
for tours. The time for this event will also be announced at a later date
and I will keep you updated on this event. I have been there and it is
very interesting. Lots to see.
September 18 - 20th in Granville, Ohio located in Licking County
will be having their annual Fall Frolic. This is being held at Infirmary
Mound Park. This is a three day weekend event of horse and carriage
fun. There will be clinics offered by world famous clinician Andy Marcoux
with an opportunity for a one on one instruction. Participants can put
what they learned to the test in the Arena Drive Trial. This is the perfect
time to come and enjoy the scenery of Infirmary Mound Park and
meet other carriage enthusiasts. Western Reserve Carriage Association
is the co-host of this event. For more information you can log onto
Our last meeting was held at Good Hope Lutheran Church in
Arlington, Ohio on March 8th at 2pm. We would like to welcome
Brian and Karen Taylor from Custard, Ohio. They are our newest
members, so let's please make them feel welcomed.
We would also like to send out our prayers to Darlene Higgins.
She is holding her own and doing better. Hope to see you soon. We
ALSO!!!!! Reminder. Members you need to get your dues
paid in full or your copy of the Corral will get cancelled. So
lets make sure you get them in, we don't want you to miss an
