The club this year has celebrated it's 20th Anniversary. Henry and Becky
Zumfelde
who founded the Blackswamp Driving Club attended the banquet. They were
presented
a gift and a cake in honor of founding our club. They were really surprised.
Glad they
could attend the banquet with us.
As door prizes, everyone was presented a DVD with pictures on it of the
past
20 years at different events. We can thank Angie and Aaron for making the
dvd's for
us. We were also presented patches with the 20 year driving club emblem. We
could choose black and white or colored. We can thank Connie and Gary
Gillfilland
for those. As of the banquet, we still have some left. They are $5.00 each.
Just let
Connie or Gary know.
We also held an auction of donated items from the club members at our
banquet.
The proceeds going to the club. We would like to thank Mary Elliott for
auctioning
those items off and giving us all a laugh. She done such a good job. What a
lively
auction it was.
At the Kentucky Horse Park this year in Lexington, Ky. The Driving club
was
presented a prize for coming in first place at the carriage roundup for the
tailgate
party. Good job everyone.
Our first meeting will be held at the Good Hope Luthern Church in
Arlington, Oh.
It is located on State Route 68 near the school on the south end of town. It
will be
Sunday January 11th at 2:00pm. Bring your treats. Drinks will be provided. The
next
meetings will be held as follows: February 8th, and March 8th.
The Cornhuskers Festival held in Upper Sandusky, Oh will be held on
October
10th and 11th of 2009. Bring your donated food items for the mulligan stew.
The
Gillfillands hope to hold another sleigh rally at their farm when we get a
nice snow
cover and the weather isn't too cold. They will make phone calls to let
members
know what day it will be. So have your sleigh ready to go or just come and
hang
out and take a ride with the Gillfillands.
Some people with internet access could be receiving a driving survey.
Please
bring your thoughts to the first meeting.
We are also thankful for the good news on the progress of Darlene
Higgins. They
would like to thank you for all the prayers. We hope she continues steady
recovery.
We would also like to send out prayers to John Miles who is going through
dialysis.
If anyone has any information on upcoming drives, or events please let me
know
I would like to thank everyone for giving me this opportunity to be the club's
new
reporter.
