BSDC NEWS

by Joe Bell

Welcome to 1999! Hoping you survived Christmas and New Years in fine style and
are really looking forward to the new driving season. Earlier this afternoon  the thermometer was
reading 69 degrees, hard to imagine for December 6. It makes it one less day of cold before spring.

The annual meeting at the Woodland in Findlay, OH. was a well attended with 59
members and guests present. This is the tenth anniversary of the BSDC. Many thanks to Henry &
Becky zumFelde for gettingus up and running. President Mark Newman conducted the business meeting and commented on some ofthe drives in '98. Angie Hohenbrink reported the treasury has $967.64 in the
bank.

Results of the election to the board of directors were, Gerald Racey and Fred Thompson, elected to the board of directors for 3 year terms and Roger Murray elected for the 1 year term. There was no new business brought before the membership. Winners of the door prizes were, Henry & Becky zumFelde winning the towels and Marilyn Racey winning the '99 membership dues. The auction of donated items  was conducted, with the club receiving the proceeds.

I am told the BSDC had 5 members turning out for the Christmas Parade at
Lebanon, OH on Dec. 5, 1998. Surely was an unusual day, weather wise. No need for heavy clothing and cold feet. There would have been another BSDC turnout but someone ran into a problem when they tried to hitch! Someone told me that you must put your shafts in the trailer if you expect to properly hitch to your vehicle. At one our meetings or drives you might ask around to see who did not bring their shafts!!  Parade pictures from Lebanon.   Can you find Will Stevenson?
