BSDC November 2010 Corral article

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.  As the year comes to an end we have lots of memories, pictures and stories of the fun outings we’ve shared this year.
Roger and Sue Murray hosted a joint drive at the Tiffin Coonhunters Club on September 26 for Western Reserve and Black Swamp Driving Clubs.  Thirty-eight guests attended with 10 turnouts (of which 3 were pairs).  Molly Owens hand painted beautiful slate signs for door prizes.  Lucky winners were Al Hohenbrink  (the Western Reserve sign) and Connie Gillfillan won the Black Swamp sign.  Club members return every year to this lovely drive.
We all just returned from a long weekend at the Corn Huskers Festival in Upper Sandusky, hosted by John and Sara Hunter.  The weekend provided us with warm and sunny weather and the trees were turning their brilliant Fall colors.  Several members set up a lovely carriage display, Julie Emmons and Will Stevenson gave carriage rides, a scavenger hunt was set up and Mary Elliott provided us a lot of fun trying the log pull. Thanks to the Higgins for bringing their chuck wagon and to all the members who brought plenty of great food.  Sixty members and guests (with twelve turnouts) enjoyed the tree lined Fairgrounds for their pleasure driving, as well as great fellowship.  Special prayers go out to John Miles who took ill this past weekend.  We know he really wanted to enjoy his horses, family and friends.
